The Blood Advantage (III):
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.” (Leviticus 17:11, New King James Version).
This is the key Bible verse for the “Come and See” devotional today.
As we continue in our quest to understand, recognise and take full advantage of the Blood of Jesus Christ, it is important to know that His blood was shed as a perfect sacrifice aimed at reconciling mankind to the original plan of God. In the Bible we read: “By that will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrews 10:10, New King James Version).
The son of God was given as ransom for us. This recalls the account in the second Book of Kings about the attempt to destroy the rebellion of the Moabites. Here the king of Israel teamed up with the kings of Judah and Edom and so they were too strong for the Moabites. The Bible states “and when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too fierce for him, he took with him seven hundred men who drew swords, to break through to the king of Edom, but they could not.” (2nd Kings 3.26, New King James Version).
This was certainly a “do or die” situation for the Moabites. There is always one thing that the might of our enemies will not be able to repel and this is the power of the Blood: we already know that the Blood speaks overwhelmingly. The Bible recorded the last action of the King of Moab as follows: “then he took his eldest son who would have reigned in his place, and offered him as a burnt offering upon the wall; and there was great indignation against Israel. So they departed from him and returned to their own land.” (2 Kings 3.27, New King James Version).
When prayers seem ineffective in dealing with a recurring difficult situation, then you should not hesitate to rely on the Blood of Jesus Christ. As shown in the case of the Israelites and their battle with the King of Moab, evil forces will return to where they came from, at the pronouncement of the Blood of Jesus Christ. That Blood is your last and most effective weapon against the wiles of the devil and his agents both human and spirits.
If the blood of a dead nonbeliever caused great indignation against the Israelites, then how much more will the living blood of Jesus Christ do when pronounced against anything or anyone? This revelation must never be forgotten because the blood of Jesus represents your salvation and identity and is the legal tender needed for your freedom. With it, you can move up from your position of shame to the everlasting state of glory.
Let us pray: “Father, Let the Blood of Jesus refute every voice speaking against my destiny,” in Jesus’ Mighty Name, Amen.
